About the Role:
Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Practical Nurse Instructor to teach Lab and Clinicals from our Campbell River, BC campus. This position offers an opportunity to mentor and shape the next generation of nursing professionals through engaging and comprehensive instruction.

This role offers 28-35 hours per week and has the potential to lead to future instructional opportunities, advancing your career in education.

Start date: Tuesday October 21, 2025

Rate Range: $33.00-$40.00/hour

Schedule: Tuesday to Friday (set hours for Lab, Clinical based on-site availability)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction in lab, and clinical settings.
• Execute lesson plans using preset curriculum that aligns with PTIRU compliance (extensive in-house curriculum orientation and training provided).
• Provide hands-on training and supervision in clinical environments.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
• Stay current with best practices and developments in nursing education.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2,800 hours of nursing experience, inclusive of either maternity or mental health or Acute Care.
• Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN – required.
• Previous instructor experience is an asset.
• Experience with Office 365 and Student Information Systems (SIS) is an asset.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
• Commitment to fostering a positive educational experience.
• Ability to travel to local sites withing region.
